From our travels around the world over the past few years, we got inspired by many of the things we’ve savoured – Spanish dinner parties, late-night brasseries in France and Italy and just simple good cooking at afternoon eateries in Southern Africa and Asia. Our menu is based on these experiences, using earthly techniques like wood grilling, hot or cold smoking, and when it feels right, offering fusion styled dishes from all over the world.
We work directly with local farms to source meats and seafood to ensure they are treated well, whether dry-aged or grass-fed, organic or raised through sustainable methods. Because of this, we tend to cook things simple, with only a few ingredients, and lots of love.

We have visited the Packshed a few times now, the first time was Christmas 2017. The Christmas lunch was devine and full of unexpected surprises, the other times we visit we really enjoyed the very good food, the environment, the friendly staff and owners. We will definitely return back!
What an amazing winter's evening out! Friendly, efficient staff that pay such attention to every detail! A warm cozy fire and mellow atmosphere. Kiddies polished their plates and were delighted to be invited into the kitchen to help the Chef prepare their yummy dessert. Delicious wine and the best Peri-peri Chicken Livers we have ever had..........

Anniversary dinner at The Packshed was an absolute fairy tale, from the moment we arrived to a cosy fire outside to the very moment we left we were treated like royalty. What a delight for the South Coast! Four of us had a wonderful meal here last Friday. The staff were delightful and the food was absolutely delicious. Home made pasta - the best ravioli I have had in a long time. A nice touch having the chef come to chat after the meal. Wishing you much success guys. We will be back!
Valentine's Dinner 2018 was surely one to remember! Was as if I was in another country enjoying the most divine food and yet it was on Sweetdale Farm... literally my 'backyard'. Tranquil and scenic venue; tasteful decor and warm ambiance; excellent and prompt service and most importantly: delicious food at a reasonable price. Add to that a special gesture that made my girlfriend feel extra-special for her birthday and you have a place that I will keep coming back to. Wishing you guys more success.

The Packshed is tucked away from the hustle and bustle 3km from Margate Beach, settled in the heart of a natural, unspoilt bush vegetation, within a 120 ha of Sweetdale Farm, 120km from Durban. From South Coast Toll Road: Turn off from the highway on the Margate/Uvongo/Seaslope Road off-ramp No 33. Turn right at top of off-ramp - go across the highway - follow the road past Margate Country Club; Sebenza Nursery to the T-junction. Follow the sign: Sweetdale Adventure Camp and The Packshed - Fusion Food Restaurant. At the T-junction, turn right. After +/- 600m turn left into the Entrance: You will see the big sign: The Packshed, next to the Sign: Sweetdale Camp.
